Get Your Me Time On And Get The Weight Off

When hearing the worlds "workout or exercise" often makes some of us feel like we're automatically being labeled a fat person, when the reality is working out and exercise should be a lifestyle for everyone. There are always certain things you can do to keep or get healthy. Being a mom of a 10 month old, I understand when people tell me I just don't have time in the day to exercise. I completely understand that it may be difficult, but it's not impossible. Every woman or man needs to have that time during the day for themselves. In the first 3 months of my daughter’s life, I felt like my "me time" was when I was in the shower. Any other time I had to constantly be changing her, feeding her, trying to pick up the house, and so on, but listen if you will... If you don't take some time for yourself, you will get frustrated, depressed, and forget who you are. It's almost like you will feel like a robot, doing the same old thing all the time for everyone else. But mamas you need to let your hair down every once and a while. My husband works a full time job, so he's often times exhausted when he gets home, but being a stay home mom I work 24/7, so that is a full time job too. So don't feel bad for asking him to watch the kids while you go in the other room and get your Zumba on or whatever exercise gets you pumped about being healthy. Because let me tell you this, it's no fun when you take your kids to the park and you can't keep up with them. My motto is kids are a lightning bolt of energy, and I need to be the thunder chasing after them. So eating right and exercising may seem impossible, but it's an easier process than you think, you just have to get your body on board (and that's the challenge). You just have to rearrange your schedule a bit and be determined to change your mindset and eating habits. Then I know you can do it. I have 50 pounds to loose and for me it's been a battle, but I know that if I can step up to the plate of a life of unhealthy choices, then I can also chose a different plate of healthy ones that will bring me a much happier way of life. Just take it one step at a time.

Daily reminder to yourself: Baby steps may seem small at first, but they are the first steps you take to make one of the biggest changes in your life. Loosing weight is just a baby step system that in the end looks like a giant leap. So focus on those baby steps because they show progress to a greater outcome.

The Journey Begins With One Step

Yesterday I was out shopping at the grocery store with my husband and daughter and I felt like I couldn't get my sweet tooth to shut up. I wanted chocolate soooo bad and when I passed by the cookies, and Easter candy, I had set my mind that I was going to get one. Then I remembered watching a show where this lady had so much stuff and her house was so packed that she could barely move... She kept picking something up and making excuses for why she couldn't get rid of it. She felt like well I may need it one day and it's got a good memory. These items were total trash. Like a cotton ball or a stick of gum. While walking through the store I walked by a mirror and I looked at myself (I know people were thinking I was some crazy lady, but this worked for me). I looked at myself, not in disgust (which is something I do sometimes because of how much weight I have gained) but in determination. I said to myself is this item worth your happiness? As I thought about those words I looked back at the cookie/candy isles and said no!
This type of step may not be a big deal to you, but for me it was my first step to breaking away from unwanted pounds, depression, and so much more. So if food is a struggle for you, like it is for me (even just at times), remember to ask yourself... Is it worth your happiness? The sweet or drink or whatever it is may feel good for a period of time, but then it leaves you looking in the mirror asking why you couldn't just say no. This journey begins with one step. With each step there will be more aggravation, excuses of why you should have it, and so on, but you have to learn to say NO! It’s not easy, but anything worth having is also worth fighting for, even if you have to fight yourself. Taking control of your life is what is important. Hope you have enjoyed reading my story. Feel free to post a comment if you want.

Make you some Lemonade!

Have you ever felt like you fell to sleep this skinny or fit person and then you woke up and for some reason you found yourself in a totally different body? Well your not alone. When I was in high school I felt like I had the nice round booty, quite curvy, and was pretty then. Next thing ya know I was married, have a 10 month old (who both my husband and daughter I love so very much and would not trade them for anything) and there’s these weird stretch marks everywhere.... Now my skin is too tight for my body! What the heck happened and what alien switched my body and brain out with another?

I have always heard, when life gives you lemons what do you do? You make lemonade right? Well... What do you do when life gives you 50 pounds of lemons and you just don't want them?

If your making fresh lemonade and squeezing them by hand, you know that making lemonade is not easy. In fact you can get frustrated at times and just want to quit, but the little girls and boys who have their own lemonade stand will tell you it pays off to make lemonade.

So don't be like me and make fat jokes about yourself, get stressed, and complain about not being fit like you use to be... no get up and work that lemonade. It's not an easy process to lose weight, but we can both get there 1 step at a time and in the end you will feel so much more refreshed than before. Good luck!
Remember I'm here through this journey so feel free to share with me your struggles and victories as I will be sharing mine.
